Almost a year ago, we started Dragonfly Tackle Company with a simple idea: build production fishing rods the right way, in America, and put them in the hands of anglers who actually fish. We didn't know exactly where it would take us. We're still figuring it out. But a lot has happened, and we think you deserve to hear it straight.
On the inside, we've shifted more of the workload between the two of us to keep up with a business that's moving faster than we expected. That investment is showing up in the rods.
This past spring, we set up at the Florida Saltwater Fishing Expo, and it was one of the best decisions we've made. The response from anglers and buyers was real, and it was loud. It confirmed what we'd been hoping. There's a genuine appetite for an American-made production rod brand that doesn't cut corners. We came home from that show with momentum we're still riding.
Our dealer network has grown fast. Shops like Avid Angler in St. Augustine and Resellers Reef were among the first to take a chance on us, and we've been adding new dealers across the region since. We don't take any of that lightly. We've also been making steady improvements to our equipment and building tighter relationships with our suppliers, which means the rods we're making now are better than the rods we were making six months ago. And the rods six months from now will be better still.
We're not trying to be everywhere at once. We're making consistent steps to conquer the North Florida market first, and doing it right. That means showing up for our dealers, staying connected to the anglers fishing these waters, and continuing to build rods we're genuinely proud of.
Thank you for being part of year one. There's a lot more coming.
